About Cari

Cari Dubiel is the assistant director at an Ohio public library. As a librarian, she has spoken at webinars and events throughout the US. She specializes in teaching mindfulness to library workers. She also reviews for Booklist and has presented on readers’ advisory.

As an author, Cari has published How to Remember, a novel that is available only in independent bookstores and through public libraries via Overdrive and Biblioboard. This novel won the 2017 Hugh Holton award from Mystery Writers of America, Midwest Chapter; both How to Remember and All the Lonely People, a 2015 collection, were chosen for wide distribution by Library Journal. Her short stories appear in many anthologies, the most recent including Passageways: Mythos (2023) and Dark of the Day (2024). Off Switch, a novella written as C.T. Baker, is available as well.

Cari is an active member of Sisters in Crime and a previous Library Liaison for the group’s National board. As a writer, she speaks on Scrivener and librarians’ relationships with authors. She is also the lead editor for Duskbound Books.
